Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test Exam (TANCET) (MTech, MCA, MBA):

The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test Exam (TANCET) is conducted by the anna university.The Anna University (Chennai) will conduct the every year edition of the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) mostly on May month. It is mandatory for students aspiring to join MBA, MCA, ME, MTech, M.Arch and MPlan postgraduate degree courses to appear for the TANCET.

The TANCET will be conducted in various centres in Chennai, Coimbatore, Erode, Karaikudi, Tirunelveli, Vellore, Chidambaram, Salem, Thanjavur, Villupuram, Virudhunagar, Nagercoil, Madurai and Karaikudi etc.

By giving this exams candidate can get admission into various college and institution of government & non-government colleges of Tamil Nadu state. All courses are provided in Tamil Nadu college but in the limit. But as all know competition among candidate is high and the seat is limited.Contact us 

TANCET Eligibility Criteria:

TANCET eligibility criteria vary for M.Tech/ME, MBA and MCA courses. There are no age limit criteria defined under TANCET eligibility criteria set by Anna University. Candidates of any age can apply for TANCET Application Form. They must satisfy minimum qualifying marks to be eligible for TANCET. Given below is the TANCET eligibility criteria for the aspiring candidates:

Acceptance of a person as a candidate for writing the entrance test does not confer on the person, the right of equivalent eligibility for admission to a course entirely rests with the admitting authority offering the courses.

Candidate with a degree obtained without studying class 10, 12 or 3 years’ degree program is not eligible.

Candidates admitted through Lateral Entry in degree courses are not eligible except, B.E./B.Tech. and MCA degree courses.

students with B.E./B.Tech. degrees obtained through Distance / Weekend mode are not eligible.

Exam Duration: The duration of the exam will be about two hours.

No of Questions: Total 100 questions will be asked in the examination.

Type of Questions: The question will be of multiple type questions.

Marking Scheme: One mark will be allotted to the candidates for a correct answer.

Negative Marking: For the incorrect answer, 1/3 marks will be deducted.

Attempts: In ME/M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan section, PART I & II is compulsory. PART III according to the discipline selected during registration.

Pattern of TANCET Examination:

MBA:

TANCET for MBA will be conducted for two hours duration and the question paper will be of objective type with each question carrying one mark and there will be deduction of 1/5th of mark for every wrong answer. TANCET MBA will have questions under the following categories:

  • Data Interpretation
  • Quantitative Ability
  • Logical Reasoning
  • English

MCA:

Entrance examination for MCA admissions will be conducted for 100 marks. Each correct answer will carry 1 mark and 1/4th of the mark will be deducted for each wrong answer as well.

There will be questions under four sections mentioned below:

  • Quantitative Ability
  • Analytical Reasoning
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Computer Awareness

M. Tech/M.E./M. Arch/M. Plan:

For these courses, TANCET examination will be conducted in three parts as given below:

  • Part – I – Engineering Mathematics
  • Part – II – Basic Engineering & Science
  • Part – III – Specialization subject and candidates can choose their specialization from a list of 14 subjects offered under this category
